2020.06.10. Jefferson Davis Monument, Richmond, VA USA
On 2020.06.10 a statue of Jefferson Davis that stood on the lower part of the large monument was toppled by protestors. The bronze object was dragged through the streets and eventually taken away in a tow truck.
On the morning of 2020.07.08, the rest of the monument was removed following a city-wide ordinance. Cranes lifted the statue off of the top of the 100 ft. pedestal and detached other large bronze statues on the surrounding stone structure. It was dismantled and removed from Monument Ave in Richmond, VA.
